Northbay Supply Co. sells mobility and comfort equipment for old dogs and dogs recovering from surgery.
There is a moment most dog owners recognise. Your dog walks to the back of the car, waits, and then looks at you, because the jump they have made a thousand times is not there anymore. Nothing is wrong exactly. They are just old.
The equipment that solves this exists and it is mostly sold badly. Product pages list a weight capacity and no cabin dimensions. Ramps are photographed against a low couch and sold to people with SUVs. Nobody mentions that your dog will need two weeks of coaxing before they will walk down the thing.
So we do it differently, in three ways.
Every listing has an honest limitations section
Not a disclaimer at the bottom. A section, near the top, in plain language, that tells you what this product does badly and who should not buy it. Some of them talk customers out of the sale. That is the intended behaviour.
We publish the number that actually decides the fit
For strollers that is cabin dimensions, not the weight limit. For ramps it is length against the height you need to reach. Where a manufacturer does not publish it, we say so instead of leaving a blank.
We would rather answer a question than process a return
Tell us your dog's weight, their length lying down, and the height they need to reach. We will tell you what to buy, including when the answer is nothing we sell.
